Fat Bottom Brewing Company was the dream of owner and founder, Ben Bredesen. Ben learned about the science of brewing through hours and hours of practice, combining the perfect ratio of ingredients and preparing them just right in large vats of steaming grains. In 2011, he decided it was time to leave his career in software and follow his dream of owning and operating his own business. With that, he leased a space in East Nashville and Fat Bottom Brewing was born and, in August 2012, the doors to Nashville’s first brewery were opened.

Fat Bottom Brewing Company cares “about good beer and good people.” Proudly brewed right here in Nashville, their beers are “bigger and sexier than what you’ll find at your local bar.” So, what exactly does that mean for you?

The recipes on tap were developed from Ben’s homebrewing experience. As the recipe was scaled to fit the 15 barrel brewhouse and the company continued to grow, Ben brought on a crew to help him develop, promote, and grow the business. Along with their growing team, Fat Bottom Brewing continued to add new styles of beers, increase distribution, and package their product into cans. It was clear they needed a larger facility.

After four years in business, Fat Bottom Brewing Company moved from the East to West side of Nashville, quickly taking over their new, state of the art, 33,000 square foot facility. Their vision; simply, “quality.” You can check it out for yourself by scheduling a tour (and tasting)!

If you haven’t tried their product yet, you should visit them at 800 44th Avenue North. They are open Monday-Thursday 4pm-12am, Friday 11am-12 am, Saturday 10am-12am, and Sunday 10am-10pm. Stop by during Happy Hour 4-7pm Monday-Friday or Brunch from 10am-1pm Saturday and Sunday.
